The Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra presents its annual Home for the Holidays concert of choral and instrumental holiday pops on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 7:30 p.m. at the Palace Theatre, Greensburg.
“The concert is a tradition for Greensburg, full of favorite carols and holiday music, and is a perfect festive night out to gather friends and family together,” said WSO Executive Director Michael Rozell.
The concert is guest-conducted by Andrés Franco and features such favorites as Sleigh Ride, Selections from The Nutcracker, Winter Wonderland,and more. The All-Star Choir of Westmoreland County, directed by Chris Bartley sings Here We Come a Caroling, Merry Christmas from Home Alone, the Hallelujah Chorus, and a Holiday Sing-Along. The choir is comprised of 50 students from area schools, including Belle Vernon, Connellsville, Derry, Franklin-Regional, Hempfield, Latrobe, Southmoreland, and singers from the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg and the WSO Chorus.
Guest Conductor Andrés Franco served five seasons as Music Director of Tulsa’s Signature Symphony and Resident Conductor of the Pittsburgh Symphony. He has also served as Associate and then Resident Conductor of the Fort Worth Symphony, as well as Music Director of the Kansas City Philharmonia.
Soprano Charlene Canty is the guest soloist. Ms. Canty graduated with honors from the Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance. She holds a Master of Music degree with honors from Duquesne University.
