Join us in West Overton’s historic, enchanting brick barn for an evening strings concert. Hear traditional classical works plus a few surprises performed by the WSO’s six-person Cello Ensemble. Sip on signature cocktails featuring West Overton’s Jasper Stash Rye Whiskey plus a selection of Pennsylvania beer and wine. General Admission – $20; doors open at 6:00 p.m. with a cash bar. Saturday, July 6 at 7 pm St. Clair Park, Greensburg – Celebrate the Fourth at our popular annual summer concert in the park! Bring a lawn chair or blanket along with family and friends and join us for classics, patriotic favorites, movie favorites, and our traditional finale – The 1812 Overture at St. Clair Park in Greensburg, conducted by Daniel Meyer. This concert is free and open to the public. Donations are accepted.

The WSO kicks off the 55th season with award-winning pianist Janice Carissa performing Rachmaninoff’s soaring, monumental Piano Concerto No. 2 . The evening opens with Khachaturian’s romantic ballet Adagio of Spartacus and Phrygia and Tchaikovsky’s dramatic tale of forbidden love – Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture. Daniel Meyer, Artistic Director conducting.

Nutcracker Ballet

Tchaikovsky’s timeless score comes to life during Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra and Texture Contemporary Ballet’s production of the beloved holiday favorite. The area’s only live-orchestra version of this iconic ballet features spectacular choreography and will take you on a magical, musical trip to the land of the Sugarplum Fairy, waltzing snowflakes and enchanted toys. Get ready to be swept away by the incredible power and emotion of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony. From its iconic opening notes ‘duh-duh-duh-duuuh’ you’ll hear why the Fifth is one of the most popular and beloved symphonies ever composed. Groundbreaking Young Concert Artist Hanzhi Wang performs Astor Piazzolla’s tango-inspired Aconcagua: Concerto for Accordion. The concert opens with a work by a contemporary of Beethoven—Luigi Cherubini’s operatic Lodoïska: Overture.

Mahler: Symphony No. 1 ‘Titan’

Titanic in scope and size Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 in D major ‘Titan’ will take you on a symphonic journey from the opening sounds of nature awakening to the clashing, turbulent, epic finale. Micah Wilkinson, principal trumpet of the Pittsburgh Symphony makes his WSO debut performing Aleksandr Arutiunian’s Armenian-inspired Trumpet Concerto.
