Maxim Lando Returns to the WSO

The Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra presents Maxim Returns,on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the Palace Theatre in Greensburg, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Pianist Maxim Lando will perform Saint-Saëns’ Piano Concerto No. 2 in G minor, the concert also features Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 in a major and Nico Muhly’s Two Motets by William Byrd.

“We are thrilled to welcome back audience favorite, the brilliant young pianist Maxim Lando for his fourth collaboration with the WSO. Maxim will perform Saint-Saëns’ charming and brilliant Piano Concerto in G minor. We are also featuring Beethoven’s masterwork – his Symphony No. 7 in A major,and an evocative reimagining of English Renaissance music by young American composer Nico Muhly,” said Daniel Meyer, WSO Artistic Director.

American pianist Maxim Lando makes his fourth appearance with the WSO. Winner of the Vendome Prize, New York Franz Liszt International Competition, and Young Concert Artists Susan Wadsworth International Auditions, Maxim is also a recipient of the coveted Gilmore Young Artist Award. Most recently he was a top prize winner at the Cleveland International Piano Competition 2024, and was awarded both the Arnold Freyuth Special Prize and the Schott Music Award from the 13th International German Piano Award.
