Spring Rhapsody Set for March 31
At the symphony we all love a good rhapsody…especially when it’s Spring Rhapsody. The annual dinner-auction, held at the Greensburg Country Club, is one of the most anticipated events of the season. Enjoy wine, fine dining, music from the string quartet, and a collection of incredible auction items. From dinner with the maestro to fabulous vacation getaways, get ready to have some fun bidding on more than 50 items.
New to the auction are two items involving the orchestra’s Artistic Director Daniel Meyer, and his wife Mary Persin – namely, a cocktail party for 20 in your home catered by One Eleven’s chef Richard Kurtz, and a dinner for four at a private club in Pittsburgh.
Getaway destinations include a condo in Naples, a house in Vail, a Grand Bahia Principe Resort, the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and Spa, and a Meadows Racetrack and Casino package that includes an overnight stay at a nearby Courtyard by Marriott.
Sports fans can bid on tickets for Penguins and Pitt games. Art lovers will find works by such area artists as Susan E. Pollins, Phyllis Koehler, Lee Klingenberg, Kathy Sobota and Peg Panasiti. Fine wines, jewelry, wearables, home accents, and restaurant and golf packages are also up for bid.
The cocktail hour is set for 6 p.m., dinner, 7:30, with the auction to follow. Event co-chairs are June Penta, Janie Belden and Von DeRiso; auction co-chairs are Bill Friedlander, Jan Taylor and Kathy Sobota. Chuck Anderson hosts as auctioneer.
